Course purpose: This course will introduce you to how the scientific study of the weather and climate is done, using the Pacific Northwest’s weather and climate as an immediate example. The course will contain some math, but will focus primarily on the concepts of atmospheric sciences. We will answer questions like “What’s the difference between climate and weather?” and “What’s with this freaking snow, anyway?” Previous coursework in chemistry and physics is helpful but not required. Please check your e-mail (or send me an e-mail if you haven’t heard from me in a while) for updates.
