1. Complete one of the case study exercises for this chapter found on the companion website for our text.

2. The incidence of substance abuse and mood and anxiety disorders increases dramatically during emerging adulthood. What are some possible reasons for the increase in each of these disorders at this particular stage of development? Are those afflicted destined to a life of suffering?

3. Your younger brother is a senior in high school and wants no part of attending college. He hates school, he's tired of all the hoops he had to jump through to get the grades, and he just doesn't see the value of four more years of education. As a sibling concerned about his vocational identity as well as his future ability to support himself, outline at least three very important reasons for deciding to attend college that were discussed in the text that you feel will help you make a case for further education.
