CHAPTER EIGHT SUGGESTED SEMINAR DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 1. Pay attention to what you eat for a day or so and look for any evidence of imbalance (e.g., not enough fruits and vegetables, too much sugar or fat, not eating when you're hungry, or eating when you're not, etc.). Did your food habits originate in early childhood, in adolescence, or at some other time? Explain. Point to text material to elaborate your response. 2. Describe injuries you have sustained, including injuries that resulted in stitches, broken bones, or scars. Could any of these injuries have been prevented? If so, would the preventive measures have impeded some other aspect of your growth (e.g., self-confidence, peer acceptance, physical skills)? Point to text material to elaborate your response. 3. Discuss the effect of the coinage of the terms “snack” and “treat” on the health of American children.
