CHAPTER FIVE POSSIBLE SEMINAR DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. Examine parent/child sleeping practices from two different cultural perspectives. What is the reason for the particular practice in each culture? What is your perspective on sleeping practices?

2. Discuss the role of immunization in safeguarding public health. Describe what immunizations do and what may happen if children are not immunized, according to the research.

3. Based on your understanding of the text, what are the advantages and disadvantages of breast-feeding over bottle-feeding? How can more women be encouraged to breast feed? What cultural attitudes have you noticed regarding breast feeding in public places? Would you like to see these attitudes change in some way? If so, how?
