Choose your Lake Field Trip Site Select an area of your lake site where you are likely to see birds.    
Prepare for your Lake Field Trip Review the list of birds that you are likely to see at your lake site

Read Week 6 Field Trip Focus

 
Choose a field trip partner For your safety, do not go on a field trip by yourself    
Collect the Materials Needed for Your Field Trip You will need your binoculars, field notebook and field guides    
Scout your Field Trip Site Prior to beginning your Lake Field Trip choose a route that includes habitats areas where you are like to see birds.    
Field Trip Activities Dress appropriately for the weather. Protect exposed skin with sunscreen. Observe birds at your Lake for at least 2 hours. Use your field Guide to identify each bird. Add each bird's name to your class bird list and to your Life List, if it is a first time sighting.  
Field Trip Report Use the Class Discussion Web to share your field trip experiences with your classmates. Describe the areas where you observed birds. Complete your Lake Trip Report before midnight on Sunday, November 9, 2008  
Peer Interaction Prepare a list of the species you observed in your lake site.. Share your Lake Field Trip experiences on the Class Discussion web  
Instructor Interaction Use email to send questions or concerns to the instructor.
