This week's focus is on the techniques that birds use to communicate. Visual and vocal communications allow birds to exchange information with members of their own species and between themselves and other species.
The nervous system and special senses provide the cues that birds use to successfully survive in their environment. Your observations in a local wetland will allow you to observe interactions between birds of the same species, interactions between birds of different species and interactions between birds and other organisms in their environment.
