This week's discussion topic provides an opportunity for you to get to know your classmates by sharing a favorite outdoor location . You can choose anyplace in the great outdoors that you particularly enjoy or that has special meaning to you. By the way, be sure also to introduce yourself.
Details allow us to visualize a specific location. Make a list of the details that come to mind when you think of the location you have chosen. Did you include the climate, the physical setting, the plants, and the animals?
At the end of your description you may (or may not) want to identify the location of your favorite spot. Post your message in the discussion web.
After you have added your favorite location to the discussion, read about the places that are important to your classmates. You can share your ideas or ask questions by using the "Reply" choice which appears at the top of the message you are reading.
Use "Search" to find a message by a particular student or on a specific topic.
Hint: Most students find that it is easier to create their contribution with their Word Processing program. After using the spell-checker and grammar-checker, you can cut and paste your message on the Discussion web. When you reply to other students' messages you can type directly onto the reply forms.
